God continues to amaze me. The past few years have been filled with unexpected twists and turns, bringing loss and love. At the beginning of April 2022, after a dinner conversation with friends, God spoke to me. I heard Him clearly state, "What about you?" to a comment I made about the pastor of the church plant we attend needing help. This question was unexpected, frightening, and honestly... brought frustration and anxiety. That night, my husband, Randall, and I set aside the next two weeks to pray and seek clarification and direction. God continued to speak and graciously gave clarity. 

The Catalyst Coalition is the result of those two prayer weeks. I am confident that God is calling me into a new season of ministry. After 16 years on staff at the Baptist Student Ministry at the University of North Texas, I hope to utilize my experience and education to help other ministries and churches better engage their communities with the Gospel. Also, I plan to join the staff at MercyHill Church in the Fall 2022. 

As I have prayed, the lyrics of a worship song named "If You Say Go" continue to repeat in my mind. The lyrics say, "if you say go, I will go. If you say wait, I will wait. If you say step out on the water, and they say it can't be done. I will fix my eyes on you and I will come."

Leaving my job during a recession to raise financial support when inflation is high is scary. Selling our house and buying one in Fort Worth so we can be close to my parents and MercyHill during the most expensive housing market in DFW seems unwise. BUT God is calling us to go, and continues to open doors, provide a new home, and we trust that He is planning on bringing the partners we need to create momentum for Catalyst Coalition as this new ministry begins.

in 1792, William Carey, missionary to India, told his friend Andrew Fuller, "I will go into the pit, if you will hold the ropes." As Carey left to serve, Fuller faithfully took care of the daily ministry details in England to ensure that Carey could focus on his ministry in India.

For this next season, I must ask you my friends and family, "will you hold the rope as I go where God is leading?" Will you consider becoming a prayer and financial partner? 

Without the support of those in my life, beginning the Catalyst Coalition's ministry would be impossible. I know that just as God is calling me to go, He is calling those in my life to 'hold the rope' by praying and becoming financial partners.
